As we wrap up your project, we film a video manual specific to your project to give you tips on general maintenance, how-to’s, and any specific information you will need to know to make the most of your new space. Our Story
Paul apprenticed at a joinery and cabinet making company who craft solid timber doors, windows, staircases and cabinetry. There he acquired a range of skills to become the expert in custom kitchens & cabinetry Calgary.
Paul has worked in Australia, the UK and Canada. These varied experiences have allowed him to hone his skills and offer a superior quality product in a wide range of styles.

Southern Stars Custom Woodwork is a family owned company established in 2016 by Paul Wyman, a Journeyman Cabinet Maker with over 20 years experience in the trade.

Discovery Call
Ready to start? Book a Discovery Call and share your inspiration—photos, videos, measurements, style, colours, wood types, budget, and challenges. The more you share, the better we can understand and bring your vision to life.

Initial Estimate
Using your info—styles, rough measurements, timelines, and budget—we provide a ballpark estimate. This gives you an early look at the project’s scope, pricing, and timeline, helping you make informed decisions before moving forward.

In-Home Consultation
With a rough budget and style set, we book an in-home consultation to refine your design, layout, and flow. We consider appliances, review key selections, bring samples, take detailed measurements, and explore options to fully capture your vision.

Proposal & Agreement
After the in-home consultation has been completed, we prepare a Proposal with final scope, pricing, and timeline. When you’re ready, we finalize the Agreement and collect a 50% deposit—officially kicking off your project!

Design Phase
With the Agreement and deposit complete, we start detailed design work, including 3D renderings and a personalized Loom video walkthrough. Through ongoing collaboration, we fine-tune every detail to ensure your space is perfect before construction begins.

Portal Access
Once your project begins, you’ll access updates via our Client Portal—photos, videos, walkthroughs, and a shareable timeline. All updates are saved in the cloud, along with a custom cabinet care video. Clear communication keeps you informed every step of the way.

Build Phase
With designs finalized and materials ordered, your project enters full build mode in our workshop. Each piece is crafted with care and precision. You’ll continue to receive Client Portal updates, keeping you connected as your cabinetry comes to life.

Installation Phase
Before install, we schedule a pre-install meeting to confirm delivery, storage, floor protection, and cutting area setup. During installation, we minimize disruption, keep things clean and organized, and share regular updates to ensure every detail is perfect.

Aftercare
Even after install, your experience continues! You’ll get a custom video manual, care kit, and our 5-Year Warranty. We’re always here for support, adjustments, or advice. With detailed records on file, future updates are easy—part of the ongoing Southern Stars Experience.
