Style: Contemporary, Grey Stain on Maple
Overview:
The owners here needed to maximize their storage and wanted to modernize the look of their kitchen to better reflect their personalities and style. They chose mission style doors in maple with a grey stain that complements the stainless-steel appliances. All the upper cabinets extend to the ceiling for additional storage. The upper cabinet runs include a double pullout spice rack, pantry drawers, fridge cupboard pullouts and a microwave shelf upon which they can rest hot food.
The lower cabinetry utilizes Lemans blind corner hardware for easier access to the corner cupboard. The sink cupboard contains a pullout drawer and their recycle drawer houses two recycle bins. All the drawers are crafted from Baltic birch plywood and lined with a non-slip liner. The island contains shallow storage for water bottles and travel mugs and a drawer for cutting boards and a custom knife block – these owners are serious home chefs!

Design and Aesthetic:
- Materials: Slate-stained Maple cabinetry with Mission-style doors and drawer fronts featuring flat center panels for a sleek, modern look.
- Finishing Touches: Matching end gables, 5″ Maple crown molding, and furniture bases created a cohesive and polished design.
- Island Details: Decorative 6″x6″ posts, shallow end cabinets, and steel brackets to support the stone countertop added character and stability.
Enhanced Functionality:
- Custom Storage Solutions: Tailored drawers, pullouts, and pantry racks addressed the client’s organizational needs. Highlights included spice pullouts, a cutting board and knife drawer, a Lemans II corner system, and a dual-bin recycling drawer.
- Modern Features: Soft-close hinges, full-extension undermount slides, and anti-slip drawer mats provided a smooth and quiet user experience.
- Specialized Cabinets: The kitchen incorporated a microwave shelf with a push-to-open mechanism, a liquor pullout near the fridge, and adjustable shelving throughout.
Efficient Installation:
- The old cabinetry was removed and responsibly disposed of, ensuring minimal disruption to the client’s home.
- The new cabinetry was installed with precision, aligning perfectly with the space and accommodating all appliance specifications, including a 36″ range and a 30″ deep fridge.
