What Does Our Warranty Cover?
We believe in the integrity of our work and guarantee the quality of everything we create. Our five-year warranty is our promise to you that our cabinetry will remain free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use conditions. But what does this really mean? Let us break it down:
Material Quality: We carefully select high-quality woods that are durable and built to last. If there are any manufacturer defects such as excessive warping, cracking, or splitting beyond normal wood movement, we’ll take care of it.
Craftsmanship Excellence: Our cabinets are handcrafted with precision by skilled artisans who take pride in every joint, edge, and finish. If you experience any craftsmanship-related defects within five years of purchase, we’ve got you covered.
Drawer Slides & Door Hinges: We want your cabinets to function as smoothly as the day they were installed. That’s why all our drawer slides and door hinges come with a full lifetime warranty—meaning if they ever fail under normal use, we’ll repair or replace them at no cost to you.

What’s Not Covered?
The warranty provides comprehensive protection; however, certain exclusions apply. We maintain a commitment to transparency; therefore, the following items are not covered under our warranty:
Normal Wear & Tear: Over time, even the highest quality cabinets will show some signs of use – minor scuffs, scratches, or slight finish changes. This is a natural part of owning wood products and isn’t considered a defect.
Misuse or Improper Care: We build our cabinets to be durable, but they’re not indestructible. Damage caused by excessive force, exposure to extreme humidity, or improper cleaning methods isn’t covered under our warranty. (Pro tip: Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive moisture to keep your cabinets in tip-top shape!)
Natural Wood Variations & Humidity Effects: Wood is a living material, and variations in grain, texture, or color are completely normal. These unique characteristics enhance the beauty of your custom cabinets and are not considered defects. Additionally, to maintain your cabinetry’s integrity, your home’s humidity should stay between 40-50%. Low humidity can cause joints to shrink and open, while high humidity can lead to swelling and splitting. Southern Stars recommends using a quality humidifier and/or dehumidifier to keep conditions stable.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
We work hard to ensure that the warranty procedure is as easy and hassle free as possible. In the event of running into an issue, refer to the following steps:
Contact Us: Reach out to our customer service team by phone or email with your original purchase information and a description of the issue. Sending photos can also help speed up the process!
Assessment: Our team will review your claim and determine the best course of action. We may ask for additional details including images or send someone to inspect the issue in person.
Resolution: If the issue is covered under our warranty, we’ll work with you to find the best solution. Whether that means repairing, replacing, or adjusting the affected component.
